We are Bloomin’ Goods a student company from Ripon Grammar School, our company is made up of 9 students, the 9 students in our company are Amy, Emma, Robyn, Joshua, Thomas, Alex, Alice, Ruby and Matt.
We have all come together and designed a product that is educational, sustainable and affordable and this is to help children and their families learn the importance of looking after our planet. We have also made sure that our product is plastic free and we have also included engaging sheets and puzzles which aim to educate children and their families about the environment and how we can all live a more sustainable life.
Throughout our journey one of the thirst things in which we decided were what the key values of Bloomin’ Goods are, and we decided that our product must be educational, sustainable and affordable. To ensure that our product is as sustainable as possible we ensured that our product is completely plastic free. Our seeds also come from a supplier that carbon offset the emissions created from delivery and packaging, and this is another way in which we are trying to ensure our product is as sustainable as possible.
We have also had many successes throughout our journey so far. We won tickets to an online web conference where students in the company were able to go and speak to top entrepreneurs who gave us lots of help and advice on how we can both improve our product and how we can sell our product. Some people within our team were also fortunate enough to speak on BBC radio York on the morning show.
Many people ask us, well what does the future hold? We believe that the future is big for Bloomin’ Goods as we hope to release more products which will target a larger audience range. We are also going to change our recipes and seed types when the seasons change so that we are only selling seeds during their optimal growing times.
