Becoming a new mum for the first time (or second, or third time!) is one of the biggest changes we go through in life and at Mumbler we are all about trying to make family life as easy as possible. So here are our top tips, life hacks, advice from other parents, gift ideas, essential information and available support for new mums in our area.

Whilst the information below is from parents in the local area and based on first hand experience please note that this is not medical advice from healthcare professionals. If you are concerned about anything, our advice will always be to seek medical attention.

You can find information on antenatal classes and ‘parent education‘ available here as well as details of maternity services at Harrogate District Hospital (including Ripon Antenatal Clinic), James Cook Hospital and Friarage Maternity Centre.

Where can I meet other mums?

Baby classes and support groups are great places to meet other new mums. Unfortunately, not many groups and classes are running currently due to the pandemic. Our groups and classes page will be updated as soon as the restrictions are lifted.

There’s no doubt that the pandemic has made things trickier to make your new mum tribe! There are lots of ad-hoc virtual classes happening (so keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages – we share as much as we can on there!) and check out our Facebook chat group or other parent chat groups on social media to start conversations with other new local parents!
