Like glittering dust on fairy wings, children’s dreams are magical things! There’s something truly magical happening this Summer in Knaresborough for all the family. Explore an enchanted wood filled with fairy houses, giant toadstools, and fairy-tale themed displays.

Second star to the right, and straight on ‘til morning. To follow the fairy door trail, all you’ll need is faith, trust, and pixie dust! Dressing up in your sparkliest fairy wings or pointiest elf hat is thoroughly encouraged, prizes will be awarded to Mother Shipton’s favourites when you share them on Instagram #mothershiptons.

Whether you’re a gnome, a fairy, an elf or a pixie, there’s something for everyone. See what curiosities are hanging from the Petrifying Well, make a wish in the Wishing Well, and step inside the cave where Mother Shipton was born. Visit the museum to see petrified celebrity items and browse the unique attraction gift shop.

Go wild in the Adventure Playground or have your own woodland tea party with artisanal coffee, cakes, sandwiches, and ice cream available to purchase from our vintage style coffee kiosk. There are plenty of picnic benches with scenic views of the River Nidd and Ancient Royal Forest.
