Queen Ethelburga’s Collegiate (QE) is keeping its doors open this summer, with a series of high-quality Summer Camps
Nestled in 220 acres of beautiful North Yorkshire countryside QE’s state-of-the-art facilities and exceptional, the independent-school coaching staff will ensure that children have a safe, enjoyable and fun summer adventure that they’ll remember always.
Musical-in-a-Week Workshops
9- 13 August, 9am to 4pm daily
Our Musical-in-a-Week workshops will give students with a passion for Performing Arts an opportunity to take to the stage this summer.
Taking place in The King’s Theatre, QE’s full-scale professional venue, budding performers can take on the challenge of learning and performing some well-known musicals in just one week, working alongside industry professionals. The two workshops running will be Shrek The Musical (9-13 August, 5-11 years), or Mamma Mia (9-13 August, 11-18 years).
KS3 Science Camp
9-13 August, 9am to 4pm daily
For students aged 10-14 years
Our KS3 Science Camp will be an explosion of fun, giving an opportunity for children to develop practical application skills and knowledge through fun experiments to help prepare them for GCSE Science.
They will carry out a range of different experiments and the theory behind them. Activities will include things such as investigating a crime scene and learning how to collect evidence to solve a ‘murder mystery’, looking at how the body moves through dissections and looking at forces involved in building cars.
Queen’s Art Academy Art Club
9-13 August, 9am to 4pm daily
For children aged 9-13 years
For students with a love of creative arts or for those who want to try something new this summer, our Queen’s Academy offers a unique opportunity to hone their skills in Visual Arts.
The week-long Art Club will include themed days for Fine Art (including forest school activities, Graphic Design & Illustration, Fashion & Textiles, Photography and 3d Sculpture.
All our summer camps can be booked on a non-residential (day camp) or a residential basis.
Day (non-residential): £200 per child, per week This includes lunch, snacks and wrap-around care (8am-9am and 4pm-5pm each day).
Residential – £500 per child, per week This includes Sunday to Friday boarding and all meals, snacks and evening activities.
QE’s resident multi-activity day camp Camp QE will also be running on various weeks throughout the summer holidays: Camp Q-lympics Week (2-6 August); Cartoon Week (9-13 August); International Week (16-
20 August), and Jungle Week (23-27 August). Camp QE is open for children aged 5 – 13 years (from Year 1 upwards).
