We were invited to visit the Himalayan Gardens and Sculpture Park at the beginning of the summer holidays and we jumped at the chance as it’s been on our ‘days out’ list for ages! Despite it being summer, it still rained on the day we were due to go, but that didn’t put us off – even in the rain this place is beautiful!
On arrival we were welcomed by the lovely team in reception who suggested some good routes and things to look at. Noticing our little boy, they highlighted the fairy and butterfly trails and play park on the way in. First stop for us was the gorgeous little cafe – there’s indoor and outdoor seating and a children’s lunch bag offer with a colouring sheet, which I thought was great value! It’s next to the play area so we spent a good half an hour here before even going into the gardens!
Once we were all fuelled up and play-parked-out we set off down the hill into the valley. Due to the natural landscape of the gardens the paths are not all accessible. There is an accessible path but it is a little steep – completely manageable with a pushchair though.
The Gardens are huge! We had no idea how much space there was to explore before our visit. We spent a good half a day here and we didn’t manage to explore all of it! We had a lovely time embracing the rain showers and being outside. We loved exploring the different paths and seeing where they took us, spotting sculptures (there are over 80!) and despite the drizzle, we had a really lovely time. The best part is that children under 16 are free so a family day out here is really good value!
Take a look at our reel on Instagram to see what else we got up to and visit the Himalayan Gardens and Sculpture Park website for ticket information.
(We were kindly gifted our visit here, but our reviews are always honest and truthful! We had a lovely afternoon!)
